He is survived by: his parent Burman Lillian McCrickard Akins; his children-in-law, Ronnie Akins (Teresa), Diane Hamel (James) and Pat Akins; his brother John Wayne "Buddy" Akins; his grandchildren, Tara Hamel Graham (Robert), Austin Riley (Danielle), Olivia Riley, Dwayne Harmon (Tiffani) and Kim Lawson; and his great grandchildren, Emalee, Elijah, Payton, Page, Emerson, Kyle and Garrett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a church or a charity of one's choice.
