He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ray and Pauline Baker Ray; his stepdaughter Terry N. Gunter; his brother Jerry Ray; and his brother-in-law James Grant.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Oswald Ray; his children, Michael Ray and Michelle Ray Clayton (Brad); his siblings, David Ray (Betty Jean), Toni Hicks (Jerry) and Patricia Grant; his grandchildren, Kip, Thomas Gunter, Lennon and Allen Caughman; his sister-in-law Gail Hall; and his nephew Jerry Hall. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
