He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Sue Padgett Ward; his parents, Dozier Lee "Doc" Ward and Maggie L. Causey Ward Johnson; and his siblings, Ronald S. Ward and Jerry A. Ward.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda W. Goodwin (Michael) of Hickory Grove, Jerry D. Ward of Leesville and Janet W. Boone (Tim) of Leesville; his grandchildren, Megan W. Reynolds (Michael), Ashton G. Rhodes (Michael) and Kaylen G. Revels (Will); his great grandchildren, Kenzli A. Rhodes, Gracelyn Sue Rhodes, Mason B. Reynolds, Ellie J. Rhodes and Stella B. Revels; and his sisters, Hazel W. Caro of Wallingford and Juanita W. Johnson (Billy Gene) of Martinez.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Convent Baptist Church at 787 Convent Church Road, Leesville, SC 29070.
