With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joann Gunter Broome (Leesville, South Carolina), who passed away on September 23, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Tracy C. Gunter Sr. and Nettie Lee Simons Gunter; her husband Lewis D. Broome, Jr.; her brothers, Phillip G. Gunter (Peggy), Robert Gunter (Agnes) and Paul D. Gunter; her siblings' children, Angela Gunter and Mike Gunter; and her brother-in-law Willie E. Broome.
She is survived by: her children, Lewis D. Broome, III (Linda) and Stephanie Broome Scott; her granddaughters, Amy Broome, Melissa Burgess and Belle Scott; her great grandchildren, Hunter Broome, MaLeigha Broome and Caden Whittle; her brother Tracy C. Gunter, Jr. (Wynette); and her sisters-in-law, Joye Broome and Brenda Gunter. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and extended family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to her church which she dearly loved, Steadman Baptist Church, 1011 North Edisto Road, Leesville, SC.
