James Elwyn Barfield Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Elwyn Barfield Jr. of Lexington, South Carolina, born in Charleston, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 8, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Moore Barfield; his children, Elizabeth, Margaret, John and Binh; his grandson Dylan; his sister-in-law Carol Moore; his cousins, Frances Dengate, Patty Procopio and Jimmy Dengate; and his friend Jim. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel (609 Northwood Rd, Lexington, SC 29072). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church (2350 Augusta Hwy, Lexington, SC 29072).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Jim's name to alivingtibute.org, a cause close to Jim's heart. Contributions may also be made to the Lexington Rotary Club, Scholarship Program, a legacy that will continue his work and help to carry forward the values he held dear.
