He was predeceased by: his parents, Sheldon Gibson Squires and Mamie Louise Whitley Squires; his daughter Sharon Meade; and his siblings, Richard Squires, Elizabeth Martin and Rebecca Bridwell.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Hutto Squires; his son Timothy Squires (Catherine); his stepchildren, Talmadge Hutto, Amanda Pierce (Max) and Kathy Richardson; and his plush elephant Johnny. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren.
