She was predeceased by: her brother Edward Hedrick III; her husband William H. Barefoot; and her parents, Johnsie Hedrick and Edward Lawrence "Lape" Hedrick. She is survived by: her children, Leslie Smith (Don) of Winston-Salem, NC, Susan McCraw (Ron) of Spartanburg, SC and Bill Barefoot of Leesville, SC.; her grandchildren, Nelson Dickson (Stephanie), Howell Smith (Sarah), Parker Smith, Jackson Smith and Johnsie Barefoot; her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Colt Dickson; and her nephew Edward Hedrick IV. She is also survived by her family and friends.
