He was predeceased by: his son Joshua Gunnar Frierson; his father Lt. Sam H. Frierson Jr.; his siblings, Theresa Frierson Corbin and Sam H. Frierson III; his grandparents, Sam H. Sr., Lottie F. Frierson, William L. and Mary F. Schachte of Charleston, SC; and his brother-in-law Michael L. Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Tracy Brannon Frierson; his children, Sydni Frierson Copeland (Corey), Cassidy Blythe Frierson and Luke William Frierson; his grandsons, Gunnarr Bjorn Copeland and Houston Edmund Copeland; his mother Marjorie Schachte Frierson; his sister Lynne Frierson Thomas; his mother-in-law Carol Hinson Brannon; and his sister-in-law Letty Madrid Frierson (Sam III). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
