He is survived by: his wife Mary Nell Lindsey Vess; his children, Libby Hall (David) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Ronda Whisner (Dan) of Mt, Joy Beaver (Eddie) of Easley, SC and John Willett, Jr. Vess (Melissa) of Easley, SC; his sister Margaret Glendenning (Amos) of Leitchfield, KY.; his grandchildren, Jeremy Hall (Christine), Danny Whisner (Melissa), Jon Whisner (Kari), Elizabeth Rosencrans (Dean), Lindsey Ford (Chad), Katie Crater (Nate), Michael Walker, Marci Nattinger (Kevin), John Willett III and Jake Vess (Emma); his great grandchildren, Garrett Ford, Ethan Hall, Trey Whisner, Stephanie Hall, Madison Grace Ford, Leah Rosencrans, Reagan Whisner, Valerie Hall, Bethany Rosencrans, Gibbs Whisner, Amber Walker, Ryland Whisner, Nolan Whisner, Cole Crater, Zane Ford and Beckett Whisner; and his stepgrandchildren, Michelle Stinehart (Kevin), Janelle Patterson (Brian), Numora Stinehart, Bennett Patterson, Emerson Stinehart and Bowen Patterson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
