He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. Brown and Edith Lorenz Brown; his wife Marilyn Beratta Brown; and his siblings, James Brown and Susan DeRing.

He is survived by: his children, Matthew R. Brown and Gretchen Magno (Gregory); his grandchildren, Madilyn and David Magno; and his sibling's children, Cindy, Bill La Fleur, Melissa, Greg Mosley, Kathy, Krissy, Tommy and Joey DeRing.
