He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta Young Charping; his parents, Joseph Charping and Jeanette Billings Charping; his son Greg Charping; and his siblings, Ray Charping and Martha Lewis.
He is survived by: his children, Shelby Charping Dixon (Steven Cox) of Calhoun Falls and Steve Charping (Candy) of Abbeville; his siblings, Marshall Charping of Bowman, GA, Louise McBride of Iva, Marie Land (Lonnie) of Calhoun Falls and Faye Johnson of Elberton, GA; his grandchildren, Joe Dixon (Madison), Brandon Dixon (Melanie), Riley Dixon (Skyla), Gracee Dixon, Chase Charping (Tabitha), Brandy Hudgins (Ron) and Jake Charping; and his great grandchildren, Zoey, Bella, Elizabeth, Olivia, Deklan, Cash, Rucker, Alexa, Savannah, Grayson and Waylon.
