He is survived by: his mother Katie Powell Avant; his wife Rhonda Kirkland Avant; his sons, Shannon Landis Avant (Melissa Butler) and Blake Avant (Emily); his stepson Jason Rose (Melissa); his siblings, Veretha Cribb (Gerald), Marsha Hardwick (Danny), Glynis Avant (Lynne) and Kerris Avant (Joyce); and his grandchildren, Madison Landis Avant, Brayden Everett Avant, Hudson Kelly Avant, Mason Landis Avant and Justin Tanner Knott.
