He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Wiley Scott Sr. and Annie Bell Goodwin Scott; and his siblings, Theodore, Lawrence, Lillie Mae, Willie James, Leo, Johnny, Hazel, Joe Wiley, Juanita, Christine and Peggie Ann.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Timothy B. Woods and Melvin C. Murphy; his adoptive daughter Stephanie M. Woods; his siblings, Terry Scott (Gail) of Columbia, SC. and Josephine Manning Williams (Jene) of Maxton, NC.; his aunt Etta Pearl Kirkland of Lugoff, SC.; and his siblings-in-law, Mack, Jimmy, Rickey, Charles, Jene, Walter, Henry, Eric, Willie Mae, Iola, Beverly, Ruby Joe, Nellie, Gail, Grace, Mary and Margaret. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
