He was predeceased by: his mother Edna Powers; his stepson Johnny O'Cain; and his siblings, Elbert Powers and Eloise Powers. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Porter Powers; his daughter Cynthia Christine Powers of Alabama; and his stepchildren, Misty Smith of Lugoff and Trey Smith of Lugoff. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
