Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Grady Eugene leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clifton Sanford and Nannie Lee Morris Sanford; and his daughter Nancy Nicholas. He is survived by: his wife Marty (Marty); and his children, Barbara Hartsoe (Randy) of Greer, SC and James Sanford (Diane) of Travelers Rest, SC. He is also survived by one granddaughter and two step-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Living Waters Funeral Home (529 Spartanburg Hwy S, Lyman, SC 29365). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Newberry Memorial Gardens (15127 CR Koon Hwy, Newberry, SC 29108).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to the James F. Byrnes High School Block B Scholarship Fund.
