He was predeceased by : his mother Elenor Mckenzie Goodwin; his sons, Adrian Terrell Goodwin and Gerard Darnell Goodwin; and his brothers, Clyde Mckinzie and Robert Lee Mckinsey.

He is survived by : his wife Bridget Goodwin; his father Bishop Robert Goodwin, Sr. (Pearl); his children, Cherren Goodwin and Walter Fredrick Alston; his stepchildren, Tiffany Denise Sanders, Odell Sanders, Jr. (Alaina) and Deon Dontell Sanders; his grandchildren, Tykasia Janea Goodwin, Walter Goodwin, Jr., Sanadran Monea Goodwin and Joy Collett Elaine Sandersand; and his siblings, Alvin Goodwin (Yvonne), Bishop Henry Goodwin (Elder Kaverne), Rev. Grace Steed (Ronald), Melissa Goodwin, Robert Lee Goodwin, Jr., Tracey Goodwin and Rickey Goodwin.
