She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Alexis McMillan and Sara Varn McMillan; her husband William "Billy" Lee Hewitt, Jr.; her sister Sara "Sissy" Hungerford; and her son-in-law Timothy Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Lee Hewitt, III (Whitney) of Murrells Inlet, Norma Hewitt Coote (Bill) of Marion, SC and Sara Hewitt Brown of Florence, SC; her grandchildren, William Lee Hewitt, IV, Coleman Mathews Hewitt, Sara Coote Taylor (Devin), Adelaide Coote (Preston Bethea), Sidney Brown Caggiano (Chris) and Ellen Brown Burnett (Hollis); her great grandchild Elizabeth Adele-Marie Taylor; and her brother-in-law Dr. Douglas Hungerford.
