He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Faye Quillen Jones. He is survived by: his children, John Jones, Jr. (Pam) and Tammy Jones of Murrells Inlet, SC; his pet Tater; his grandsons, Jason and Jerrid Jones; and his sisters-in-law, Rebecca Millsaps of Alcoa, TN and Donna Sweet (David) of Louisville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
