He is survived by: his wife Donna James Mims; his children, Heather Gainey (Derrik) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Chad Mims of Murrell's Inlet, SC; his grandchildren, Samantha Odom, Brayden Mims, Demi Gainey, Shane Gainey, Mason Gainey and Blake Gainey; and his sibling Robynn Taylor (Brad) of Stafford, VA..
