He was predeceased by: his siblings, Claire, Billy and Frances; his former wife Adele Gordon Gardner; and his wife Elizabeth Anne McNeely Chase.
He is survived by: his children, Adele, Lindsay Gardner (Hank) of Englewood, CO and Hilary Easley (Bill) of Philadelphia, PA; and his stepchildren, Anne, David Hirschfeld (Andrea) of Chicago, IL, Dan Hirschfeld (Stephanie) of Towson, MD., Marcia H. Brashear (Stuart) of Concord, N. C. and Sandy Chase of New York, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
