With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Deacon Moses Montgomery Jr. (Johns Island, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 30, 2025 at the age of 85. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Deacon Moses may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Montgomery, Sr. and Janie Montgomery. He is survived by: his children, Michael Montgomery (Judy), Gerard Montgomery (Lavonda), Terrence Montgomery (Christie), Minister Latrece Montgomery-Brown (Ronald), Andrea Weston and Tracey Harris; and his siblings, Evangelist Pearl Coakley, Wilhelmina Simmons and Janice Montgomery. He is also survived by grandchildren, twenty-five (25) great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A reception will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 1900 Riverview Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405.
