He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Gillis and Grace Gravitte Gillis; his son Mark Gillis; and his siblings, Earl Gillis and Amelia Daniel.

He is survived by: his wife Catheryn Gillis; his son Stacey Gillis; his grandson Dylan Gillis; his great grandchild Isabelle Gillis; and his brother Royce Gillis.
