We are sad to announce that on October 25, 2022, at the age of 89, Irene Louise Speaks of Okatie, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Fred Forrest Gregg, Sr. and Pearl Jewel Bunn; her siblings, Mavis Jones, Virginia Scott, Imogene Knowlton and Fred Gregg, Jr.; her husband C. W. Speaks; her children, Vicky Speaks Gilliland, Charles Stanley Speaks and Robert Stephen Speaks (Kathy); and her granddaughter Vicki Lynn Alteri.

She is survived by : her children, Jenny Speaks Baker, Velton Clay Speaks (Marina) of Bluffton, SC and Anthony Dale Speaks of Valley, AL; her grandchildren, Jason Baker, Jesse Baker (Emalee), Brian Speaks (Liz), Daniel Speaks, Victoria Schrader (Jon), Jasmyn Speaks, Blake Speaks, Delinda Griffis (Lonnie), Buffie Williams Schmidt (Frank), Lori Gilliland Howell and Chris Speaks (Joy); and her great grandchildren, Madalynn Baker, Kira Schrader, Bella Schrader, Jada Essence Jackson, Carli Alteri, Christopher Alteri, Franklin Schmidt, Ellis Schmidt, Elizabeth Schmidt, Pierce LeFevre, Landon LeFevre (Kate), Olivia LeFevre, Jacob Gilliland and Alana Speaks. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Irene.
