She was predeceased by : her parents, Alvin Taylor, Sr. and Rebecca Holliday Taylor; and her siblings, Alvin Taylor, Jr., Herbert Taylor, Loretta Taylor Burroughs and Vivian Juanita Taylor.

She is survived by : her husband James "Sonny" Zimmerman; her son Derek Zimmerman (Gwendolyn) of Fishkill; her granddaughter Jasmine Hall of Brooklyn; her brother Gilbert Taylor of Columbia; and her nieces and nephews, Alvin Taylor, III, Savay Burroughs of Columbia, Victor Taylor of Columbia, Cynthia Taylor Fairweather-Duncan (Daryl) of Lake Wylie, Christina Sotan and Loretta Taylor of Columbia. She is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg (28 Hawthorne Trail, Orangeburg, SC 29115). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (11 Mt Carmel Rd, Cameron, SC 29030). A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
