She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Richard Burroughs and Carrie Lou Lollis Burroughs of Pelzer, SC.; and her brother Richard Gary Burroughs. She is survived by: her husband John Alton Scott; her children, Wanda Reid Black (Daniel) of Iva, SC, Teresa Hawkins Meares (David) of Pelzer, SC, Melvin Scott Hawkins (Linda) of Piedmont, SC and Johnny Ray Scott (Angie) of Waterloo, SC; and her sister Deborah Burroughs McGuffin (James) of Pelzer, SC.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
