He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Francis and Ruth Van Horne Hood; his son Bryan Miller; and his siblings, Patrick Hood, Michael Hood, David Hood and Marilyn Ricks.

He is survived by : his wife Jean Kaye Heard Hood; his children, Robert W. Hood Jr. (Lisa), Timothy A. Hood (Channell), Angela Hood, Larry Miller (Edie) and Melissa Clark; and his brother Richard Hood.
