He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey A Faulkenberry and Iris Hammonds Faulkenberry; and his siblings, Floyd Faulkenberry, Harvey Faulkenberry and Hilda McAteer.

He is survived by : his wife Rosemary Moss Faulkenberry; his children, Michael Shackelford (Venus), Randy Faulkenberry (Janice), John Faulkenberry and Donna Moritz (Brandon); and his sister Dot Knight (Allen). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
