He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Baron Bruce and Clara Estelle Mobley Bruce; and his sisters, Mary Bruce Cauthen and Josephine Bruce Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Funderburk Bruce; his children, Robert "Robbie" Alvin Bruce (Sheri Gordon Bruce) of Rock Hill and Amy Claire Bruce of Rock Hill; his pet Marley; his sibling's children, Larry Armstrong (Linda) and Patsy Cauthen Ard; and his great-niece Beth Ard McCormick (Andy).
