She was predeceased by : her parents, Muriel Rose Gardner Washburn and Edward "Preach" Barbour; her brothers, Herman, Dwight, Aljolson and Curly Washburn; and her brother-in-law Charles McAdoo.

She is survived by : her husband John Henry McAdoo of Spartanburg, SC; her siblings-in-law, Walker "Leroy" McAdoo (Linda), James "Alec" McAdoo (Carol), Nancy Carol and Irene McAdoo; her niece Kecia Greene; and her cousin Irene Hester. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
