She was predeceased by: her husband David Richard "Dick" Mattingly, Jr.; and her parents, John Sampson Clifton and Irene Grissett Clifton. She is survived by: her children, Dave Mattingly (Gail) of Clyde, NC, Sheila M. Dobson (Darrell Teague) of Sunset Beach, NC, Ryan Mattingly (Kaye) of Holden Beach, NC, Roger Mattingly (Sherri) of Saint Matthews, SC and Reed Mattingly (Heather) of Chapin, SC. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, May 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Old Shallotte Baptist Church Cemetery (488 Dartmoor Way SW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469).
