He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtle Caulder Howard; his parents, Tillman Howard and Clemmie Howard; his son Leon Howard; his sister Leola Harrell; and his stepdaughter Janet Daniels.
He is survived by: his children, Louise Poston (Jim), Gail Hyman and Roland Howard (Theresa); his daughter-in-law Elaine Goins; his stepchildren, Buddy Daniels (Bobbie), Deborah Filyaw and John Lewis Daniels (Brenda); his niece Brenda Capps (Troy); his nephew Pat Harrell (Brenda); and his close friend Lisa Platz.
