He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Sterling and Vera Boozer Sterling; and his siblings, Charles Sterling, Everette Sterling, Elizabeth Mauney and Dorothy Senn.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Price Sterling; his son Doug Sterling of Westminster; his brother Boyce Sterling (Libby) of Texas; his grandchildren, Wyatt Sterling (Katherine) of Easley and Michaela Sterling of Anderson; and his sister-in-law Frances Sterling of Newberry.
