We are sad to announce that on May 25, 2025, Ira Dupree Buffington Jr. of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Ira Dupree shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Ira Dupree farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira D. Buffington, and Anna Buffington, Sr.; and his sister Joyce Parks. He is survived by: his wife Diane Shuman Buffington; his children, Chris Buffington (Amy) of Greer, SC and Amy Pitts (Matt) of Hickory, NC; and his grandchildren, Braden Buffington, Bryson Buffington, Emma Pitts and Henry Pitts.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (3 Hedge St, Simpsonville, SC 29681).
