With solemn reverence, we commemorate Graciela Chaves of Spartanburg, South Carolina, whose life came to an end on November 8, 2025 at the age of 103, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Pedro Antonio Chaves; her parents, Abelardo Fernandez and Maria Aya; her son Pedro Chaves Jr.; and her siblings, Tulia Fernandez, Leonor Moya, Sofia Chaves, Aleja Daza, Rosa Fernandez and Alejandro Chaves.
She is survived by: her daughters, Maria Alcira Fernandez, Luz Mery Acosta, Gloria Gaitan (Jaime), Daisy Amanda Chaves and Nury Esperanza Chaves; and her grandchildren, Alvaro Jr., Diana, Pedro Jr., Julie, Carlos, Cristina, Ricardo, James, Sonia, Monica, Adrian, Paul and Jonathan. She is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Floyds Boiling Springs Chapel (4161 SC-9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316). Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (290 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29302). A burial was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at the Good Shepherd Memorial Park (4164 SC-9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316).
The family will welcome flowers or memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
