It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Lowery Chesnee of Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Monroe Lowery and Myrtice Jeanette Williams Lowery; her husband Malcolm Chesnee (Mike); her siblings, Merle Pruitt and Alvin Lowery; and her granddaughters, Jessica Powell and Michelle Jordan.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Malcolm Chesnee, Steven George Chesnee (Brigitte) and Suzanne Marie Chesnee McGeorge (Barry); and her grandchildren, Jamie Capa (Ben), Christopher Chesnee, Jennifer Jones, Joshua Chesnee (Brittany), Annelise Chesnee, Kristen Ponsell (Adam) and Bryan Chesnee.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the J. F. Floyd Mortuary (235 N Church St, Spartanburg, SC 29306). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wood Memorial Park (863 Gap Creek Rd, Greer, SC 29651).
