She was predeceased by: her parents, George Arthur Willes and Edith Josephine Strong Willes; her husband Sam Edward Copeland; and her sister Angela Willes. She is survived by: her brother John Arthur Willes of Charlotte, NC; her children, Mitchell Wayne Copeland (Cindy) of Spartanburg, SC, Bryan Andrew (Donna) and Susan Copeland Holcombe (Danny) of Moore, SC; her grandchildren, Rion Holcombe, Jason Slaten (Christina), Paige Copeland, Aimee Copeland Mercier (Stephen) and Molly Claire Holcombe (Zach); her great grandchild Mathew Slaten; and her sibling's children, Chris Willes, Josephine Willes Funk and Laura Willes Bowers.
