He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph Robbie Nettles; his daughter Amy Denise Nettles; his siblings, Dan R. Nettles, Robert C. Nettles, Sr. and Lula Belle Etheredge; and his nephew James A. Nettles.
He is survived by: his spouse Linda Brewer Nettles; his parent Lessie Knight Nettles; his daughters, Kelly Purvis (Brian) and Stacie Elwood (Darin); his grandchildren, Madison Nettles, Kennedy Elwood, Cole Elwood of Summerville and Zachary Elwood (Jordan) of Bethesda, MD; his great grandchild Luke Elwood of Bethesda, MD; and his siblings, Charlie Nettles (Annette) of Dorchester, Regina Knight and Dianne Nettles.
