It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Augustus Williams of Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on May 21, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Augustus Williams to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Williams and Loumisha Williams; his son Gregory L. Williams; his sister Lucille Muldrow; his niece Sheila Muldrow; and his nephew Marvin Scarborough.
He is survived by: his son Tyrone Williams (Linda) of Sumter, SC; his siblings, Lula M. King, Rosalie Scarborough of Philadelphia, PA, Ada B. Ford of Sumter, SC, Thoney Williams (Diretha) of Sumter, SC and Murray Scarborough of Philadelphia, PA; his grandson Tyrone Williams Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; his siblings-in-law, Nettie Jenkins of Lynchburg, VA, Willie M Green (Willie) of Augusta, GA and Charlie Tomlin (Althenia) of Alcolu, SC; his aunts, Jessie Isaac and Estelle Scarborough of Bishopville, SC; his godson Lamont Williams; and his adoptive daughter Barbara Martin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gus visited the sick in the area nursing homes and hospitals every Friday until the pandemic.
