It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertie Carnes (Sumter, South Carolina), born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on September 17, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Edward Carnes; her parents, Daniel Marion Dennis and Abbie Lillian Hunter Dennis; and her siblings, Daniel Marion Dennis, Jr., William H Dennis (Bill), Mary Azilea Matthews, Rebecca Lillian Hatchell, Ruth Naomi Baker and Frances Vasti Dennis.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Edward Carnes (Marian), Cindy Carnes Brown (Tommy) and Karen Carnes Segars (Camp); her grandchildren, Tonya Shaw (Frank), Kevin Brown (Caroline), Matthew Carnes, Mark Carnes, William Segars and Hunter Segars; her great grandchildren, Megan Shaw, Ashleigh Shaw, Dalton Brown, Drake Brown, Drew Brown and Anna Porter; and her sister-in-law Frances Dennis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
