He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Devoy Ponds and Irngard Eva Schewitz Ponds; and his sister Barbara Ponds. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Elvington Ponds; his brother Fred Ponds (April) of Baltimore, MD; his brothers-in-law, Donald Hardee (Karen) of Sumter and Roy Elvington (Tammy) of Sumter; his mother-in-law Alice June Elvington; his nieces and nephews, Douglas Elvington, Wesley Elvington, Matthew Elvington, Kayla R. Hardee and Jordan H. Cruz (Daniel); and his pet Sammie.
