He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Coulter and Edmund Thomas Gulledge; and his siblings, Ed Gulledge, Jr., C. J. Gulledge, Gordon Gulledge, Lucius Gulledge and Floride Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hughes; his children, Carl Gulledge, Jr. (Kim) of Columbia, Caren Schwartz (Milton) of Sumter and Allison Easterby of Greenville; his grandchildren, Reid Schwartz (Katherine), Eliza Easterby, Coulter Gulledge, Hughes Schwartz, Grier Schwartz and Adams Easterby; and his nephews, Jimmy Gulledge, Richard Gulledge, Mike Gulledge, Pebble Gulledge and Rex Carter, Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
