He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Calvin Player, Sr. and Lucille Bradshaw Player; and his sisters, Elizabeth McAllister, Annette McLeod and Frances Schwabenbauer.

He is survived by: his son Christopher W. Player (Meredith) of Monroe, NC; and his brother Mac C. Player of Sumter.
