It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward McGee (Sumter, South Carolina), who passed away on February 15, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his sister Dorothy Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Nelson (Betsy); his children, Edward McGhee Jr. of Sumter, Makeylia James (Leroy) of Columbia, ShaGail McGhee, Dale McGhee (Shuvonia) of Tennessee, Rebecca Butler of Sumter, John Toney (Cory) of Sumter and Bianca Moorer (Jarvis) of Sumter; his nieces, Doris Henderson of New Jersey, Margaret Teixeira of Boston, Rosa Mae Vizo of Sumter and Julia Hayes of Sumter; his nephew Johnny Wilson (Ricky); his caregiver Troy Woods of Sumter; and his sister Evelyn McGhee (N. J.) of Newark. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; three brothers, five sisters. and a son-in-law, Allen Butler, Jr. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 2720 Lowder Road, Sumter.
