He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Nelson, Sr. and Frizeal Green Hayward Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Julia Anderson Nelson; his children, Rodney Gemanne and Kristen Anderson of Baltimore, Maryland; his siblings, Stanley Nelson of Kansas, Garry Leroy Nelson of Sumter, Samuel Hayward, Jr. of Sumter, Terrance Murray of Sumter, Geneva McCoy of Sumter, Lillie Nelson of Sumter, Peggy Nelson of Sumter and S. C.; and his siblings-in-law, Samuel Balls, Raymond Samuels, Carrie Anderson and Eliza Benton. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3854 Keegan Lane, Sumter.
