With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Emily Nicholes (Sumter, South Carolina), born in Kingstree, South Carolina, who passed away on June 23, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John W. "Ray" Nicholes; her parents, Chester M. Coonce and Annie Maria Lowder Coonce; and her sister Frances Grate. She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Cromer (Mike) of Woodruff, Marie Hernandez (Joe) of Abilene, Texas and William "Bubba" Hartley, Jr. (Margaret) of Pinewood; her stepchildren, Bunnie Nicholes Jackson Hewitt (Craig) of Manning and Tommy Nicholes (Linda) of Columbia; and her siblings, Joe Coonce (Judi) of Sumter and Jenny Coonce of California. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
