She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Melton (Buster) and Lillie Bell McFadden; her husband James Leroy McMillian; and her siblings, Vermell Davis, Ezell Williams, Rosa Currence, Ruby Turner, Willie Rob Melton, Willie Lee Melton and Jasper Melton Due.
She is survived by: her sons, James, Jr. (Judith), Kenneth (Shirley), Abraham, Daniel (Margaret) of South Carolina, Richard Eric (Angela) of North Carolina and Marvin of Texas; her stepdaughters, Barbara Spann-Kennedy of Maryland and Eileen Martin of New York; and her sisters, Blondell Prescott of Saginaw, Barbara Bowman (Willie) and Elma Joe of Bishopville, SC.. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
