She is survived by: her children, Joseph Smith, Jr. (Helen), Debra Bell of Newark, Shirley Brown of Newark, Greta Smith of Newark and Pamela Smith of Newark; and her brother LeConyers McPherson of Washington, DC. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
