He was predeceased by: his parents, Turner Boyd Newman and Sarah Frances Jones Newman; and his sister Annette Owens. He is survived by: his wife Carole Joy Miller Newman; his sons, Garrett Newman (Marisol) of Vista, CA and Matthew Newman (Lexi) of Colorado Springs, CO; his stepson Daniel Lyles (Amy) of Sumter; his siblings, Leverne Newman (Ann) of Sumter, Boyd Newman of Sumter, Tim Newman (Lynne) of Sumter, Paul Newman (Debbie) of Sumter, Rose Marie Pack Cummings of Sumter and Eleanor Hawkins (John) of Charlotte, NC; and his brother-in-law John Owens of Dalzell. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
