It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Polk Sr. (Sumter, South Carolina), leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ison Polk and Mary Martha Polk. He is survived by: his children, James Polk, Jr. (Donna), Virginia Blackwood and Patricia Smith; and his sisters, Louise Polk Choice (Edward) and Albertha Rhodes. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
