He is survived by: his former wife Margery Nuhn; his spouse Sharyl Simpson Rackley; his children, Nancy Cowles (Joe Costigan) of Illinois and Michael Cowles (Katie) of Minnesota; his stepson William Rackley (Pam) of South Carolina; and his brother William Cowles of Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
